Main purpose and scope of the job:

This role is co-located within Hampshire Children’s Services to support the development, restructuring and improvement of interventions for families where children and young people are using abusive, harmful or unhealthy behaviours towards parents or carers.

The postholder will lead on the delivery of trauma-informed, child-centred interventions, while also working at a systems level to embed clear pathways for parents and carers to access voluntary sector support as part of statutory children’s services work.

The role contributes to early help, safeguarding and edge-of-care responses, aiming to improve outcomes for children, reduce harm within families, and prevent escalation into statutory or criminal justice systems.

The CAPVA Improvement Worker is a specialist practitioner and development role, working directly with children, young people and families, while also supporting practice development, pathway design and multi-agency working across Children’s Services and voluntary sector partners.

The postholder will be:

Delivering targeted one-to-one and group interventions with children and young people

Supporting parents and carers affected by child-to-parent abuse

Working alongside Children’s Services practitioners to strengthen responses to CPA

Embedding clear referral pathways to voluntary sector provision within statutory workflows

Contributing to service development, learning and improved outcomes across Hampshire

This role requires flexibility and travel across multiple sites within Hampshire; therefore, a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential
