Salary: £29,722.63

Location: Hampshire

Hours: Monday – Thursday 9am - 5pm, Friday 9am - 4.30pm

Contract: 12 month Secondment (Co-located with Children’s services)

Main purpose and scope of the job:

This role is a practice and service improvement post focused on strengthening responses to teenage intimate partner abuse (TIPA) across statutory and voluntary sector settings.

The Teen Intimate Partner Abuse Improvement Worker will work alongside young people, practitioners and partner agencies to:

  • understand and scope current practice with teenagers experiencing or using abusive behaviours in relationships

  • identify gaps, barriers and inconsistencies in how teenage TIPA is recognised and responded to

  • develop, pilot and test improved ways of working, including preventative and early-intervention approaches

  • improve pathways between schools, Children’s Services and voluntary sector provision

  • evaluate impact using feedback from young people and professionals

Direct work with young people will be used intentionally to inform learning, test approaches and improve outcomes, rather than being the sole focus of the role.

Key Aims of the Role

  • Improve young people’s understanding of intimate partner abuse, consent, coercive control and healthy relationships

  • Reduce the impact of teenage intimate partner abuse and sexual exploitation

  • Strengthen prevention, early identification and intervention across services

  • Improve safety, wellbeing and confidence for young people

  • Support system-wide efforts to break cycles of abuse

This role requires flexibility and travel across multiple sites within Hampshire; therefore, a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
