Help us complete Sanctuary, a life-saving refuge for women and children fleeing domestic abuse. Sanctuary will provide safe, fully accessible accommodation for nine families to heal and rebuild their lives.
Make a lasting difference to the lives of women and children affected by domestic abuse by taking part in the Big Give Women & Girls Match Fund 2026.
For one week only, from midday on 6 October until 13 October 2026, every donation made to Stop Domestic Abuse through the Big Give campaign page will be doubled at no extra cost to the donor, offering twice the impact for every pound given.
We have been selected as one of the participating organisations in this year’s Women & Girls Match Fund, with an ambitious fundraising target to support the development of our urgently needed new refuge. Through this campaign, we are encouraging members of the public to donate £14,000, which will be matched pound for pound by the Big Give and a generous pledge from long-term supporter Comserv. This means every donation made during the campaign will help unlock matched funding, creating a total fundraising target of £28,000 towards the new refuge project.
Earlier this month, we celebrated a major milestone after securing £499,999 from the National Lottery Community Fund to begin construction of our first purpose-built refuge. Along with support from the Clothworkers ‘Foundation, Help to Create Hope Trust and other private donations, more than 90% of the total project costs have already been secured.
With just £225,000 left to raise before the refuge can become a reality, we are now calling on supporters to get behind the campaign and donate what they can. Every pound donated between 6 and 13 October will be doubled,helping to create a safe haven for women and children fleeing domestic abuse.

Donations can be made by card payment, while larger gifts can be made via BACS transfer. Every eligible donation made during the campaign period will be matched, doubling its value and impact.
