Domestic Violence and Abuse Health Advocate – STOPDA68
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: The post-holder will be based in Winchester.
We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Domestic Violence and Abuse Health Advocate.
This is a fantastic opportunity in a new and exciting project that aims at supporting health services to ensure they are best equipped to respond to domestic violence and abuse.
You will be part of an exciting project that aims to improve the outcomes for Hampshire residents who disclose domestic violence and abuse to the Emergency Department and Maternity Services.
You will support and train health professionals in order to help with early detection and intervention for domestic violence and abuse cases. You will help to develop health workers skills and knowledge to ask about domestic abuse, deal appropriately with any response, provide effective signposting and make appropriate referrals.
You will be part of a team that aims to increase partnership working across public health departments, domestic abuse providers and other community services to improve knowledge and skills for health professionals.
You will work with victims and health professionals to ensure that they have the knowledge and resources to improve personal safety.
