Female* Community Development Worker (Harmful Cultural Practices) – Post STOPDA57

Fixed term contract until 31st March 2020
Hours: 37 hours per week Part time hours will be considered for an outstanding applicant, but the hours will need to fit with the requirements of both Stop Domestic Abuse and the external agencies we work with
Salary: £23,460 pa
Location: The post is based in the office in Havant and delivers community-based work, support and interventions in Havant, Fareham, Gosport, East Hampshire and Portsmouth local communities.
The post holder will proactively engage with diaspora communities affected by harmful cultural practices including ‘honour’ based violence, forced marriage and FGM/C, and provide community based support for adults who have had harmful cultural practices performed on them or who may/whose children may be at risk. They will also increase knowledge of harmful cultural practices through delivering training to professionals and community groups.
The post-holder will need to attend meetings and events across Hampshire, therefore a full, clean driving licence and use of a car is an essential requirement.
