Female* Community Development Worker (Harmful Cultural Practices) – Post STOPDA57

22.5 hours per week  

Salary: £23,569 pro rata (£14,337 for 22.5 hours)

Location: The post is based in the office in Havant and delivers community based work, support and interventions in Havant, Fareham, Gosport, East Hampshire and Portsmouth local Communities

Workers should be “violence free in their own lives.” Applicants are asked not to put themselves forward for selection if this is not the case.

The post holder will proactively engage with diaspora communities affected by harmful cultural practices including “honour” based violence, forced marriage and FGM/C, and provide community based support for adults who have had harmful cultural practices performed on them or who may/whose children may be at risk. They will also increase knowledge of harmful cultural practices through delivering training to professionals and community groups.

The post-holder will need to attend meetings and events across Hampshire, therefore a full clean driving licence and use of a car is an essential requirement.
