£11,660 raised through The Big Give Christmas Challenge!

We are extremely grateful for all the wonderful donations we received during the Big Give Christmas Challenge.  Thanks to our supporters, we exceeded our target and raised £11,660 which will be distributed to domestic abuse victims in urgent need of financial support this Winter.

The cost of living crisis is having an unprecedented effect on women who are experiencing or who have experienced domestic abuse. National and local research shows that 96% of women who have experienced abuse are struggling. Women who have been trapped in households with abusers now can’t pay for basic essentials – over a quarter are having to access foodbanks with their children.

Through the Big Give Christmas challenge we were able to access match funds which were donated by Unite the Union in Portsmouth and DCMS’ Tampon Tax, making our supporters’ donations worth twice as much. Funds raised will be distributed to families affected by domestic abuse to help them buy food, fuel, clothing and gifts for their children this Winter.

We appreciate this will be a particularly tough winter for so many in our community and we are grateful to everyone who chose to help families affected by domestic abuse.
